The Shippra initiativeEnterprise · deployed for you

Bringing the smilesback to education.

A teacher did not take the job to fill in registers. Shippra is a research initiative studying how institutions actually work, and rebuilding that work so the day belongs to teaching again.

What we found

We began by watchingwhere the day goes.

Before writing a line of software we sat in offices and staff rooms and watched — the front desk, the record room, the examination cell, the reading room. These patterns turned up in nearly every institution.

A dozen tools that never speak

Library here. Fees there. Exams in a spreadsheet. Each holds a piece of the same student. None can see the rest.

Paperwork, not paper

Nothing against paper — a child should draw on it. The cost is one name copied by hand into eleven registers.

The day goes into re-keying

Records copied between books. Reminders chased by phone. Fees reconciled by hand. None of it is teaching.

Systems that fail on the day they matter

A server to patch, back up and pray over. Results day is the one morning it cannot fail.

Nobody trusts the numbers

Ask three offices how many students are enrolled. You get three answers. Every report starts as an argument.

It stops when the network does

The line dips and the software stops. A dropped signal should never mean no attendance and no receipt.

The Shippra initiative

It began with a question nobody could answer:how many students are actually enrolled?

Ask three offices in the same institution and you get three numbers. The register says one thing, the fee ledger another, the examination list a third. Nobody is careless — the information simply lives in different books, in different rooms, kept by different people who are all doing their best.

That gap is not a discipline problem, and no amount of diligence closes it. An institution that cannot remember reliably cannot teach reliably — and it cannot do research at all, because research begins with being able to find what you already hold.So Shippra became an initiative rather than a product line — research into how education actually works, and a commitment that fixing it should never cost an institution a server room, a consultant, or its independence.

One record, not twelve copies

A student exists once, and every office reads the same row.

The institution owns its data

Your database, your domain, your name on it — and yours to take away.

Nothing may depend on a perfect line

A dropped connection is not a reason to stop marking attendance.

Light on the planet, and the budget

Nothing to buy, nothing to cool, nothing printed that nobody reads.

Read why we built it
A tree in full blossom standing alone in a green field

Grown green

Less to carry. More to keep.

Less paperwork

Less energy

More trees standing

Lighter school bags

More afternoons outdoors

No cabinets to fill

We are not at war with paper. Let a child cover a page in colour, and print the certificate a family will frame. What we retire is the duplicate register, the notice posted to four hundred homes, and the cabinet nobody has opened in nine years — along with the server room kept cold to hold it all.

A school day should travel light too. When the textbook, the diary and the notice can live in one small place, the bag on a child’s shoulders gets lighter — and the afternoon has room left for the ground under the trees.

Taking part

How an institutioncomes on board

01

Start with what hurts most

One app or the whole suite. Begin with the desk that has the longest queue.

02

We make it yours

Your own database, your own domain, your own name on the door — set up for you, with nothing to buy and nothing to host.

03

The busywork stops being work

Your team works in one place, and the copying, chasing and reconciling happens in the background.

What we have built

Limitless apps,one connected core

Library Management / Learning Management / Institutes Management / Examination & Assessment / Admissions & Enrolment CRM / Fees, Billing & Accounting / HR & Payroll / Fleet & Routes / Hostel & Residence / Placements & Careers / Alumni & Advancement / Accreditation & Compliance / Records & Certificates / Inventory & Procurement / Research & Grants / Health & Wellbeing / eOffice: Files, Notings & Approvals / Board, Committee & Meetings / Internal Quality Assurance Cell

Each app is a piece of the same research, released as it becomes ready. Take one or the whole programme — and take it at the pace your budget allows, because the rest keeps working the moment you add it.

Our commitments

The principles that protectinstitutional memory

Everything we build is held to the same few promises. They are not features — they are the terms on which an institution can trust us with its memory.

Admitted once, known at every desk

Admit a student once and the library desk, the examination cell and the fee counter all know them from that moment. Nobody types the name a second time.

The record is yours, and only yours

Your institution’s memory lives in its own database, under your own domain and name. Take all of it out whenever you like — it belongs to you, not to us.

Less paperwork, not less paper

Paper stays for what paper is good at — drawing, craft, the report card a family frames. What goes is the copying: the same name written into register after register.

It keeps working when the line dips

The circulation desk, the gate and the classroom register carry on without a connection, and quietly catch up the moment it returns.

The proof lives with the institutions working with us.Read the case studies.

Solutions

Who we arebuilding this with

Schools, colleges, universities, libraries and training centres each remember differently — a school is not a small university, and a research collection is not a large library. Find the shape of your institution below; the software follows it.

Schools

From the morning register to the leaving certificate

Colleges

One student record, from the application to the transcript

Universities

A university that can find what it already holds

Libraries

A collection is only as useful as what can be found in it

Coaching & Test-prep

Every test a student sits, kept and comparable

Skilling & Vocational

A certificate is a claim — keep the evidence with it

Boarding & Residential

A school and a boarding house, keeping one record of the same child

Why this matters

Education software shouldn’t cost the earth — in effort, in paper, or in power. We built Shippra so a whole institution can run with nothing to host, and leave the lightest footprint doing it.
The Shippra team

Grown green

Always ready

Yours to keep

Before you go

Questions, answered.

Can we start with just one app?

Yes. Begin with one desk — the library is a natural first door, because it is the one collection everybody already agrees matters — and add the rest when you are ready. Every app writes into the same record, so nothing entered now has to be entered again later.

Is our data isolated from other institutions?

Completely. Every institution is provisioned its own database. Your records never sit in a shared table beside anyone else’s, and you can take the whole of it out whenever you like. It is your institution’s memory, not ours.

Can we use our own domain and branding?

Yes. Every app runs on your own domain, under your own name and colours. A parent, a student or a visiting scholar should see your institution, not a supplier.

Where do our apps actually run?

Your apps run on a worldwide network of small data centres rather than on a machine in a room on your campus. Nothing to host, patch or back up, the same response wherever the campus is, and the work carries on when the line dips — the register still takes attendance, the desk still issues a receipt. No server sitting idle overnight either.

Does Shippra work with our existing systems?

Yes. If your teachers already work in a learning platform, or the office keeps its own student system, Shippra stays in step with it — rosters stay matched, grades flow back, and nobody types a name twice. That includes typing it into us. (For the technically minded: roster and SIS sync, LTI 1.3, gradebook passback.)

How is it adopted?

Tell us which desk in your institution has the longest queue or thickest paper trail, and we will put together a guided campus demo around it.
