Placements & CareersThe years of work, presented in one afternoon

Recruiter relationships, drive scheduling, eligibility drawn from the academic record, and offers tracked to acceptance — so a placement cell runs the season on what the institution already knows about each student.

Why Placements

The years of work, presented in one afternoonThe placement season as a record — recruiters, drives, candidates and the offer.

Read, not retyped

Eligibility is applied to the academic record itself, so a shortlist is right before it leaves the office.

The recruiter stays

When the officer who knew that company moves on, the visits, criteria and outcomes remain with the institution.

One file, already certified

A final-year student applies from what the institution has already certified, instead of rebuilding a folder for each drive.

Answers, not memory

When a recruiter asks how last year went, the answer comes from the record rather than an officer's recollection.

Today

A placement cell spends the season rebuilding facts the institution already holds. Eligibility is checked against a marksheet somebody photocopies. Shortlists are cut in a spreadsheet emailed round the office. And when a recruiter asks what happened last year, the answer is in somebody’s memory.

What we did about it

We built the season as a record instead of a scramble. Eligibility is read from the academic file rather than retyped from it. Drives, rounds and offers sit against the student. The recruiter becomes a relationship the institution owns, not a contact one officer happens to have.

Inside Placements

From the first visitto the joining letter

The recruiter register

Every organisation, visit and outcome held by the institution, not an individual.

Drives and rounds

Scheduling, slots and rounds run against the academic calendar.

Eligibility, read not retyped

Criteria applied to the record itself — marks, backlogs, attendance.

The candidate file

One profile assembled from what the institution already certified.

Offers to acceptance

Offers, counts and acceptances tracked to the day a student says yes.

The season, reported

What happened, by programme and by recruiter, without a manual count.

Getting ready for the season

Mock interviews, workshops and who actually attended, kept against the same student the drives will call.

Internships and industry stints

Summer placements and project stints run on their own calendar, with the host's report kept on the student's file.

What changes

Who carries the season and what they put down

A student stops assembling their own evidence. A cell stops rebuilding the same shortlist for every drive. And the season leaves behind a record the next season can actually start from.

Placement officers

The season runs from the record, not from last year’s spreadsheet.

Students in their final year

Eligibility, drives and offers in one place they can see.

Recruiters

A shortlist that is accurate the first time it is sent.

A day with it

One drive, end to end recruiter, shortlist, rounds, offer

Everything is written once, at the desk where it happens, and read everywhere it is needed afterwards.

01

The recruiter is registered

Requirement and criteria recorded against the organisation.

02

The shortlist draws itself

Eligibility applied to the academic record, not a photocopy.

03

The drive runs

Rounds, slots and results recorded as the day happens.

04

The offer is closed

Offer, acceptance and joining kept against the student.

Controls

Who may see the season and what the record keeps

A placement cell holds a student's results and a recruiter's terms at once; these are the rules that keep each in its place.

Who sees the cohort

A coordinator works with their own programme's final-year students, and a recruiter sees the shortlist sent to them, not the rest.

Every change to a shortlist

A name added, a name cut, a criterion altered after the drive was published — each carries the officer and the day.

Marks stay with the cell

A recruiter is told the criteria were met, not shown the marksheet; interview notes on a student stay inside the office.

Exceptions granted by name

A dream-company exception or a late addition to a shortlist is approved on the record, not agreed in a corridor.

The register is yours

Recruiters, drives and every season's outcomes belong to the institution — take them out whole, in a form your office can read.

Drive day, weak signal

In a hall where the line drops, attendance and round results are still marked, and they reach the record when it returns.

Works with

One record,not one more system

Placements can be adopted on its own. It is worth more beside the rest, because a record entered once is known to all of them — nobody types the same student in twice.

Questions & Answers

Before the season opens what placement cells ask

We are halfway through the season — can we start?

Yes, and a season already running goes in as it stands: register the recruiters who have visited, the drives still to come, and the offers already made. The drives you have finished can be typed in later or left on the sheet they are on. What the record holds is what you enter, so the first season that begins clean is the next one.

Where does eligibility come from if results sit elsewhere?

If the academic record is kept in the same suite, criteria are applied to it directly — marks, backlogs, attendance — and the shortlist is right before it leaves the office. If results are still held by the examination branch on their own sheets, you enter the figures the criteria need against each student, and the shortlist is only as current as that entry. Most cells begin that way and stop once results reach the record on their own.

Does it run the tests and the interview rounds?

No, and that part of your day does not change. The aptitude test, the group discussion and the technical rounds stay with the recruiter, on whatever they choose to run them on. What the cell keeps is who was called, who cleared each round and what came of it — so the day leaves a result behind instead of notes on somebody's phone.

Do students apply to drives themselves now?

Yes. A final-year student sees what they are eligible for and applies, instead of the cell gathering consent forms drive by drive. Your placement policy stays yours to set — one offer and out, a dream-company exception, caps by tier — and a student applying against it is flagged before the shortlist goes; the officer still decides the exception, and that decision is recorded with a name against it.
