Before the first route goes on the map
Our buses already have tracking units fitted. Do we replace them?
Not necessarily. Where a fitted unit reports its position in a common form it can feed the same map, and where it cannot, the driver's phone carries the run and nothing needs buying. Either way the route, the roster and the boarding record sit together instead of on a separate tracking screen nobody watches.
Does the driver have to work a phone during the run?
Somebody on the vehicle does, and it is one screen: the stops in order, with a tap as riders board. Where an attendant travels with the bus, that is usually their job rather than the driver's. If the phone is left behind, the desk can enter the run afterwards — late, but not lost.
The term has started. Can we begin without redrawing our routes?
Yes. Your routes go in exactly as they run today — same stops, same timings, same vehicles — and the planning stays advisory until you ask for it. Redrawing is a decision for the next term, taken with a session of real runs behind you rather than a guess.
Who can watch the bus, and for how long?
A family sees the one vehicle their child rides, and only while that run is on — not the fleet, and not another child's stop. The transport desk sees all of it, because that is the job. Between runs the map is quiet.
